One day to go. May 25 I’m presenting some work at an internal BBC workshop at White City, then on the evening myself, Chris and Ben are screening Things Fall Apart for the first time in public. At the time of writing this we’ve just completed the renders, the audio is locked down and its just a matter of getting it all streamed for a smooth presentation. We’re so amped up about this piece. Its one of those rare moments where everything came together. My son Jordan modelled for all the shots and gave an emotive voice over which really brings it all together. Next week we’ll have it online for the rest of the world but for those who will be attending the BD4D event at the ICA we hope you enjoy it! See you there!

Today I received a Nokia N93 to aid me in my contribution to the upcoming Nokia Trends Lab from the nice people at Hanazuki who are organising the project.
The aim is to create a motion piece for the Film Lab section, either by using the phone’s camera to collect images or by using the phone and its mobility as inspiration in the process of creating the piece. Although the phone is pretty bulky and I’m not sure I would use it as a regular phone it is quite nice in that the whole screen rotates and can be used like a little camcorder. The fact that the screen swivels is nice in that it enables you to use the camera in ways you couldn’t with a normal SLR which is what I am used to working with. Not 100% sure yet how I will use the phone in the piece but keep an eye out for work in progress here!
