I’m gonna be in the big city of dreams from next week for 2 whole weeks. It’s been a place I’ve always wanted to visit ever since reading Spiderman as a kid and seeing Peter Parker swinging through the streets being chased by the cops! In a weird way NY has been a big inspiration to alot of my work (see above) so I’m looking forward to the trip as I’ve never even been stateside and it also comes straight after a long grind on the Truth about Food project! As ever I’m on the lookout for possible collaborations both in film and photographic so if anyone is interested please drop me a line at the usual contact details. Keep an eye on my flickr account for a documented photo trip!

Finally… I’ve been working on this project as the lead 2D Art Director for over 6 months including R+D time and conceptual stages! The project has involved D200 shoots, Green screen shoots, Rotoscoping, illustrations, 2.5D environments, the list goes on! Been a crazy mad one but a valuable experience… So at last some of the results are to be screened this week, Thursday 11th January on BBC2 (UK) at 9pm and for the following 5 weeks… The programme is “The Truth about Food”… check it out if you are in front of the box tonight. Unfortunately my title sequence design didn’t get the green light but you can check it out here… (music by Hecq)

I grew up in an era where you could buy 4 or 5 Marvel comics with a pound and films were real classics that to this day stand up. These past couple of weekends I’ve been lucky enough to pass on to my son, two of the most influential films of the seventies/early eighties.. The original Superman featuring the late great Christoper Reeves and then one film that inspired me to get into movies in the first place - Steven Spielberg’s E.T. (although I only have the rehashed 2002 DVD version but still… better than the kids films they bring out these days). Next weekend.. Star Wars A New Hope!
