Jóhann Jóhannsson

johann

I recently discovered the music of Jóhann Jóhannsson with the amazing IBM 1404 a user’s manual EP and have had it on repeat play for about 3 weeks now! Finding out he was going to be in concert in my hometown I made sure that I was going to be there and went along (sans slr so excuse the dodgy phone camera pics) to check it out! With his collective – Kitchen Motors taking the stage and combining both electronic and classical sounds they produced some breath taking stuff! If you get the chance to check either Jóhann or any of the Kitchen Motors collective out, they come highly recommended! Inspiring.

Hi Rob!
What a surprise to find out you had a blog (via bd4d). It’s always great being able to know what’s on others mind and what inspires them.

Oh, and yes, JJ Jóhannsson is great. Be sure to check the other albums (Englaborn and Dis) or similar artists (Biosphere, Ulrich Schnauss, Christian Kleine,Múm,SigurRos,Einstuerzende Neubauten, etc, etc).

Dude! Jóhann Jóhannsson is my greatest favourite after Aphex Twins!
I love the song “the sun’s gone dims and the sky turned black”
lucky you that you can see their performance.
